The object had the shape of an inverted bowl with a dome on top and a rectangular opening. The beings were seen descending from and re-entering the craft; the witness was paralyzed from firing his weapon.

Uruguayan Navy Corporal Juan Fuentes Figueroa observed a landed domed craft and three humanoid figures on the lighthouse roof during a routine patrol. He was prevented from firing his weapon and the craft departed at high speed.

On the night of October 28, 1972, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Corporal Juan Fuentes Figueroa, part of a five-man Navy detachment at the Isla de Lobos lighthouse, left the barracks to inspect the electric generators. He noticed strange colored lights (white, yellowish, purple) on the flat roof of the building surrounding the lighthouse tower. Approaching with his revolver drawn, he saw a landed object shaped like an inverted bowl or dome, 4-5 meters in diameter, with a rectangular opening. Three humanoid figures were present: two smaller ones and one taller. One figure stood by the object while others moved. Fuentes attempted to shoot but felt a vibrating paralysis in his arm and a telepathic-like message not to fire as it was useless. The figures re-entered the craft through the opening. The object then emitted a bright fireball from below, tilted, rose silently at high speed, and flew southeast. The case was thoroughly investigated by the Uruguayan Navy and civilian group C.I.O.V.I., with official communications noting no conventional explanation. An illustration based on the witness's description exists.
