What was claimed
Hundreds of students and teachers at Westall High School described a disc over the school and the Grange Reserve.
What is on the record
Mass witness event, contemporary press, later RAAF files. No public physical recovery. The Australian archive is the paper, not a finding of origin.
At morning recess at Westall High School, students pointed at a silver disk descending toward the Grange Reserve, a paddock of high grass behind the school. Some described two smaller objects. A group ran toward the fence. The disk, they said, lifted, moved against the wind, and left. A circle of flattened grass was later found.
Teachers Andrew Greenwood and others corroborated a craft, not a balloon. Channel reporters arrived. Students say they were told not to talk. No official investigation of any depth was published. In 2006 a reunion filled a hall with grey-haired witnesses who had not compared notes in forty years and still described the same object.
It is one of the largest-witness daytime cases on Earth. The photographs taken by students, if they existed, have not entered the public file.

Mechanic Stefan Michalak encountered a landed disc-shaped craft in the woods while prospecting. The object emitted hot exhaust that burned his clothing and caused severe physical symptoms. Ground traces, burned clothing, and medical records were documented. Canada's most thoroughly investigated and best-documented unsolved UFO case according to official files.
