On the public record, and still open. A claim, paper, or film — not a finding that it was ours, and not a finding that it was not.

What was claimed

Warrant officer Delbert Newhouse filmed bright objects over Tremonton, Utah.

What is on the record

The film was studied by the Navy and by Blue Book. Analyses split between birds and unidentified. It is among the better-documented amateur films in the official U.S. file.

Delbert C. Newhouse, a Navy chief photographer, was driving with his family when his wife saw a formation of objects. He stopped and shot about 75 seconds of 16mm color of bright, circular lights milling against a blue sky. No structure is visible. Newhouse said they had been disc-shaped when closer.

The Navy Photo Interpretation Laboratory and later Blue Book ran the film. Birds were the official lean; the lab’s own notes were less sure. Hynek kept it as unidentified. The frames are among the few daylight color records the Air Force ever had to sit with.

Could this have been ours?

The known sky, that night.

Before Sputnik the known lights were planets, meteors, aircraft, and balloons. No station. No Starlink.

Always

Aircraft, balloons, meteors

Landing lights, flares, lanterns, reentries, fireballs. They are on the known sky. They do not close a file by themselves — they are what a serious look has to hold the claim against.

Orbit · Space — the desks for lights that are already named.

Multiple mine workers observed and photographed a bright, flattened silvery disk performing vertical and horizontal maneuvers at about 600 meters altitude for roughly two hours in clear skies. CEFAA analyzed the images and concluded it was a genuine UFO after ruling out conventional explanations.
