On the public record, and still open. A claim, paper, or film — not a finding that it was ours, and not a finding that it was not.

CEFAA: object performed maneuvers no known aircraft can; photos authentic; conventional explanations eliminated.

What was claimed

Multiple mine workers observed and photographed a bright, flattened silvery disk performing vertical and horizontal maneuvers at about 600 meters altitude for roughly two hours in clear skies. CEFAA analyzed the images and concluded it was a genuine UFO after ruling out conventional explanations.

What is on the record

This file is a working record — a report, not a verdict. Official paper, if any, is linked where we have it.

In mid-April 2013, a group of approximately 35 professional workers and technicians (specialists in electricity, electronics, and fluid control) at the Collahuasi copper mine, located at 4,300 meters elevation in Chile's northern Tarapacá region, observed an unusual aerial phenomenon for about two hours during daylight under completely clear, cloudless skies. The object appeared as a brilliant, flattened silvery disk estimated at 5–10 meters in diameter. It performed short ascending, descending, and horizontal movements at an altitude of roughly 600 meters above the surface. Witnesses described it sometimes looking like a fixed disk and at other times changing appearance slightly. One worker captured two clear photographs using a Samsung Kenox digital camera. The images were later forwarded to Chile's CEFAA (Committee for the Studies of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena), part of the Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics. After extensive analysis involving meteorological, astronomical, and photographic experts, CEFAA ruled out aircraft, balloons, drones, lens artifacts, and atmospheric phenomena. The official report, released in 2014, classified the event as an unidentified aerial phenomenon (UFO) of significant interest with no conventional explanation.

Could this have been ours?

The known sky, that night.

The station was flying. Starlink was not. A string of orbs in this year is usually not a train.

Landing lights, flares, lanterns, reentries, fireballs. They are on the known sky. They do not close a file by themselves — they are what a serious look has to hold the claim against.
