In January 2015, pilots operating from the USS Theodore Roosevelt encountered multiple unidentified objects over several days. On one flight, the ATFLIR pod captured infrared video of a distinct object that appears to rotate on its axis while moving against the wind. The object maintains a stable thermal signature without visible propulsion. Crew members are heard reacting with surprise, commenting on its rotation and unusual behavior. The video was among three officially released by the Pentagon in 2020 after earlier leaks. AARO and the Navy have confirmed the footage is genuine but the object remains unidentified.
