On the public record, and still open. A claim, paper, or film — not a finding that it was ours, and not a finding that it was not.

Kodak Laboratories examined the negative and concluded the object was not superimposed. Case includes missing time, compass anomaly, and hypnosis session confirming additional details.

What was claimed

A retired policeman using the pseudonym Philip Spencer encountered a small green humanoid on the moor, photographed it, and later reported seeing a disc-shaped craft depart. He experienced missing time and underwent hypnosis. The photograph was analyzed and deemed not faked by Kodak labs.

What is on the record

This file is a working record — a report, not a verdict. Official paper, if any, is linked where we have it.

On the morning of December 1, 1987, around 7:15 a.m., a retired London policeman (pseudonym Philip Spencer) was walking across Ilkley Moor in West Yorkshire, England, to visit his father-in-law. He carried a camera and compass. He spotted a small, approximately 1.2-meter-tall humanoid figure with a large head, dark green skin, and long thin arms standing on the path ahead. The being made a gesture that Spencer interpreted as a warning to stay away. He took a photograph of the figure before it ran off. Pursuing it, he lost sight of the being in the fog but then observed a white, disc-like craft consisting of two saucer shapes rise from the moor and disappear into the sky, accompanied by a loud humming sound. Upon reaching the next town, he realized approximately two hours of time were unaccounted for, and his compass was reversed. The photograph of the humanoid was examined by Kodak Laboratories, which determined it had not been superimposed or faked. Spencer later underwent regressive hypnosis, recalling additional details of an abduction and examination aboard a craft. The case was investigated by ufologist Peter Hough and is considered one of the few British CE3s with photographic evidence.

Could this have been ours?

The known sky, that night.

Satellites were already up. The station was not. Starlink was not.

Always

Aircraft, balloons, meteors

Landing lights, flares, lanterns, reentries, fireballs. They are on the known sky. They do not close a file by themselves — they are what a serious look has to hold the claim against.

The known sky

None of the above land

Stations, trains, and planets do not set down in a field or leave a body. This file is a ground report. The known sky still has to be named. It does not answer the claim.
