Cussac Humanoid Encounter

On the morning of August 29, 1967, at about 10:30 a.m., 13-year-old François Delpeuch and his 9-year-old sister Anne-Marie were tending a small herd of cows near Cussac in the Cantal department when they saw a large, dazzling spherical object (about 2m diameter) on or hovering just above the ground across a road. Four small black humanoid figures, approximately 1-1.2m tall, dressed in tight black suits or skin, with pointed heads or helmets, were nearby. One appeared to be picking up something from the ground or examining the area; another held a bright object resembling a mirror or rod. When the children called out, thinking they were other children, the figures quickly rose vertically one by one and dove head-first into the top of the sphere. The object then rose, spiraled upward with a loud whistling sound, and left a strong sulfurous odor. The cows became agitated. A local guard confirmed hearing the whistle from 500m away. The children were visibly shocked for days afterward. The case was investigated promptly by civilian groups (GEPA) and later reviewed by GEPAN with on-site visits, witness re-interviews, and analysis of consistency. GEPAN's scientific council found no indication of fabrication and retained the case as unexplained.
