Chilean Navy FLIR, November 2014 — CEFAA study tape
Chilean Navy / CEFAA public release. Officially studied; not identified as extraterrestrial.
Original tape · heard in Spanish
English writing · from Spanish
English of the Chilean Navy / CEFAA tape. The original voice is Spanish. An Airbus Cougar on a FLIR test west of Santiago records an object that matches the helicopter at about 130 knots. A plume shows in infrared. CEFAA, Chile’s official office, studied the file for two years and called it a UAP. Later commentators argued for a distant airliner. The paper and the clip are the record — not a recovered craft.
What was claimed
A Chilean Navy helicopter recorded a white object that appeared to vent or trail something, later studied by CEFAA.
What is on the record
CEFAA is a real official office. Their public file treats the case as unidentified in the original study; later commentators argued for a distant airliner. The paper and the clip are the record.
An Airbus AS532 of the Chilean Navy, on a daytime patrol, recorded a compact object with a trailing heat or exhaust-like feature, visible in both color and IR. The CEFAA, Chile’s official UAP committee, collected radar and weather data and in 2017 stated that the object remained unidentified after three years of study.
A 2018 analysis for a skeptical organization identified a distant airliner with sun glint and a matching flight. CEFAA did not withdraw. Two competent offices, one tape. The wiki holds both readings.
Could this have been ours?
The known sky, that night.
The station was flying. Starlink was not. A string of orbs in this year is usually not a train.
1998 —
International Space Station
A bright, steady moving star. A few minutes to cross. No strobe. Occupied since 2000. NASA publishes the pass times. Not unidentified.
Always
Venus and the bright planets
A fixed brilliant point. Does not streak. Does not hover over a street then leave. Often the first misread light in a rural report.
Always
Aircraft, balloons, meteors
Landing lights, flares, lanterns, reentries, fireballs. They are on the known sky. They do not close a file by themselves — they are what a serious look has to hold the claim against.
