Official CEFAA analysis and released FLIR video confirm an unidentified aerial object with anomalous flight characteristics and no conventional propulsion signature.

What was claimed

A Chilean Navy Airbus Cougar helicopter equipped with an infrared FLIR camera captured footage of an unknown object during a routine patrol. The object flew alongside the helicopter for several minutes, emitted a heat signature without visible propulsion, and then accelerated away. The event was officially investigated by the Chilean government’s UAP committee (CEFAA/SEFAA) with released video and

What is on the record

This file is a working record — a report, not a verdict. Official paper, if any, is linked where we have it.

On November 11, 2014, a Chilean Navy helicopter (Airbus Cougar AS532) was on a daytime coastal patrol west of Santiago at approximately 4,500 feet altitude and 130 knots speed. The crew, including a captain and a technician operating a forward-looking infrared (FLIR) camera for testing, noticed an unusual object on the infrared display. The object, which appeared as a flat or slightly rounded heat source without visible wings, rotors, or exhaust plume, flew parallel to the helicopter for over eight minutes. It maintained distance while the helicopter maneuvered, then suddenly accelerated rapidly and departed. The FLIR footage clearly shows the object’s thermal signature against the cold ocean background. The case was thoroughly investigated by the Chilean Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) and the Committee for the Study of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena (CEFAA). Multiple experts, including astronomers, meteorologists, and military analysts, ruled out conventional explanations such as aircraft, drones, balloons, or meteorological phenomena. The government released the video and supporting documents publicly.

Could this have been ours?

The known sky, that night.

The station was flying. Starlink was not. A string of orbs in this year is usually not a train.

International Space Station

A bright, steady moving star. A few minutes to cross. No strobe. Occupied since 2000. NASA publishes the pass times. Not unidentified.

Always

Venus and the bright planets

A fixed brilliant point. Does not streak. Does not hover over a street then leave. Often the first misread light in a rural report.

Always

Aircraft, balloons, meteors

Landing lights, flares, lanterns, reentries, fireballs. They are on the known sky. They do not close a file by themselves — they are what a serious look has to hold the claim against.
