Police officer Lonnie Zamora observed an egg-shaped object on the ground with two small humanoid figures nearby. The craft emitted a roar and flame, lifted off, and departed as he approached. Physical traces including landing impressions, burned vegetation, and scorched soil were documented by multiple investigators.

On the afternoon of April 24, 1964, Socorro police officer Lonnie Zamora was pursuing a speeding vehicle south of town when he heard a loud roar and saw a flame in a nearby gully. He drove toward the site and observed a white, egg-shaped metallic craft resting on legs in an arroyo. Two small figures in white coveralls stood beside it. As Zamora exited his car and approached on foot, the figures appeared to notice him and re-entered the object. It then produced a louder roar with a brilliant blue-orange flame from beneath, rose vertically while hovering briefly, and accelerated away horizontally at high speed with no further sound. Zamora, regarded as highly credible, reported the event immediately. Investigators including state police, FBI, and Project Blue Book personnel found four rectangular landing impressions in the soil forming a quadrilateral, burned and charred brush and rocks at the site, and no conventional explanation. J. Allen Hynek called it one of the strongest physical trace cases in Blue Book records; it remains officially 'Unidentified.'
