On the public record, and still open. A claim, paper, or film — not a finding that it was ours, and not a finding that it was not.

What was claimed

A farm family said small luminous beings surrounded their house for hours. Police found spent shells and frightened people. No bodies.

What is on the record

This file is a working record — a report, not a verdict. Official paper, if any, is linked where we have it.

The Sutton family and their guests at a farmhouse near Kelly reported a shining object landing in a gully, then small creatures with large ears and glowing eyes approaching the house. The men fired shotguns and a .22 through the screens. The figures, they said, floated, fell, and returned. Around 11 p.m. the whole party fled to the Hopkinsville police station.

Chief Russell Greenwell found a house in chaos, spent ammunition, and no alcohol on the breath of the witnesses. Officers saw no creatures. At dawn the family said the siege had resumed. Air Force investigators from Camp Breckinridge took statements.

Skeptics offer great horned owls and panic. The police report remains: a rural family spent the night shooting at something they believed was not human, and the law took them seriously enough to drive out before midnight.

Could this have been ours?

The known sky, that night.

Before Sputnik the known lights were planets, meteors, aircraft, and balloons. No station. No Starlink.

Always

Aircraft, balloons, meteors

Landing lights, flares, lanterns, reentries, fireballs. They are on the known sky. They do not close a file by themselves — they are what a serious look has to hold the claim against.

The known sky

None of the above land

Stations, trains, and planets do not set down in a field or leave a body. This file is a ground report. The known sky still has to be named. It does not answer the claim.

Orbit · Space — the desks for lights that are already named.
