Unidentified

On the public record, and still open. A claim, paper, or film — not a finding that it was ours, and not a finding that it was not.

Gendarmerie report dated July 2, 1965, details witness statement, measurements of 1.20m depression and central hole, soil compaction noted.

What was claimed

Farmer Maurice Masse observed a landed egg-shaped object and two small humanoid entities in a lavender field; the craft departed rapidly after paralyzing him temporarily. Gendarmes documented physical traces including a central hole and star-shaped marks.

What is on the record

This file is a working record — a report, not a verdict. Official paper, if any, is linked where we have it.

On the morning of July 1, 1965, at approximately 5:45 a.m., Maurice Masse, a 41-year-old farmer and former resistance fighter, was working in his lavender field near Valensole when he heard a sharp whistling sound. Approaching the source, he encountered an egg-shaped or rugby-ball-like object, roughly the size of a small car, resting on six thin legs with a central pedestal. Nearby were two small humanoid figures, about 1.2 meters tall, dressed in gray-green one-piece suits with large heads and pumpkin-like faces. One entity pointed a small object at Masse, paralyzing him. After the beings re-entered the craft, it rose vertically with a whistling sound, tilted, and accelerated away at high speed. Masse remained immobile for about 15 minutes. Gendarmes arrived promptly, recorded his detailed statement, and documented a 1.2-meter circular depression with a central cylindrical hole (18-40 cm deep) and four radiating furrows forming a star pattern. Soil was compacted and plants showed effects; the case was later reviewed by GEPAN as a well-documented CE3 with physical traces.

Could this have been ours?

The known sky, that night.

Satellites were already up. The station was not. Starlink was not.

Always

Aircraft, balloons, meteors

Landing lights, flares, lanterns, reentries, fireballs. They are on the known sky. They do not close a file by themselves — they are what a serious look has to hold the claim against.

The known sky

None of the above land

Stations, trains, and planets do not set down in a field or leave a body. This file is a ground report. The known sky still has to be named. It does not answer the claim.
