On the public record, and still open. A claim, paper, or film — not a finding that it was ours, and not a finding that it was not.
Orange glowing V-shaped UFO... hovering low... captured in a photograph... duration two minutes... two observers.
What was claimed
While driving on Highway 1 near T-Mobile toward McDonald's, two witnesses observed and photographed a strange orange glowing V-shaped or elongated object hovering low in the nighttime sky above a busy roadway. The object appeared unusual against the night sky.
What is on the record
This file is a working record — a report, not a verdict. Official paper, if any, is linked where we have it.
On August 29, 2026, at approximately 10:40 PM, two witnesses driving on Highway 1 in Mason City, Iowa, by the T-Mobile store heading toward McDonald's, spotted a strange glowing orange object in the sky. The object appeared V-shaped or elongated and was captured in a photograph. It hovered low over the area in a manner that stood out against the night sky. The sighting lasted about two minutes. The image shows an orange, unusual form that some observers likened to the bottom of a flying saucer or other anomalous craft.
Could this have been ours?
The known sky, that night.
The station, the trains, and the rest of the known sky were already there. Hold the claim next to them.

A bright, steady moving star. A few minutes to cross. No strobe. Occupied since 2000. NASA publishes the pass times. Not unidentified.

A line of equally spaced lights after a launch. The most common string of orbs in current reports. A satellite deployment, not a formation of craft.

Venus and the bright planets
A fixed brilliant point. Does not streak. Does not hover over a street then leave. Often the first misread light in a rural report.

Aircraft, balloons, meteors
Landing lights, flares, lanterns, reentries, fireballs. They are on the known sky. They do not close a file by themselves — they are what a serious look has to hold the claim against.
