Between 2008 and 2013 the British Ministry of Defence released thousands of pages of UFO files: letters from the public, desk notes, the Rendlesham papers, and the decision to stop answering sighting reports. The archive is ordinary and extraordinary at once — garden-shed lights next to a few military cases that never quite closed.
The MoD’s last public line was that the files held nothing of defence value. The files remain the largest English-language government UFO dump after Blue Book. They are paper about what people wrote to the state, not a secret annex of recovered craft.
