Project Sign stood up in 1948 to study flying-disc reports. Several officers later said Sign drafted an Estimate of the Situation that leaned toward an interplanetary reading. General Vandenberg rejected it. The full estimate has never been produced as a complete original; what the public has is later recollection and Sign’s surviving papers.
This catalogue files the Sign record as declassified Air Force work, including the disputed estimate. It is not a recovered being and not proof of one. It is the first American desk on the subject, and the argument about what that desk briefly believed.
