Aids to Identification of Flying Objects

Using the official GEIPAN database of investigated cases, the paper models the spatial distribution of UAP reports across French territory. It applies established statistical techniques from spatial ecology and epidemiology to test for clustering beyond what would be expected from population density or reporting bias. The analysis seeks to characterize the phenomenon quantitatively without assuming any particular origin. Results contribute to the broader scientific understanding of report patterns; the study is one of several technical papers published by GEIPAN to support transparent, evidence-based evaluation of the data it collects and archives. Most GEIPAN cases overall are explained as conventional phenomena, with a small percentage remaining unidentified after investigation.
