In December 1969 the Secretary of the Air Force announced the end of Project Blue Book, citing the Condon Report and two decades of files. The public line was three points: no threat to national security, no sign of technology beyond present science, no evidence of extraterrestrial vehicles. The case files went to the National Archives.
Closure is itself a document. After 1969, American UFO paper did not stop — it moved into FOIA, Navy safety reports, and, decades later, the UAP tasking. Blue Book remains the largest single public military case file on the subject.
