The exhaustive records search concluded that debris recovered near Roswell in July 1947 was from a classified Army Air Forces balloon-borne research project code-named MOGUL, used for acoustic detection of Soviet nuclear tests. No records indicated recovery of extraterrestrial vehicles or alien bodies. The report addresses claims of 'alien bodies' by attributing many accounts to conflation of events, including 1950s high-altitude balloon tests involving anthropomorphic dummies that were recovered with military presence, and a 1956 aircraft accident. It explicitly states that Air Force research found no evidence of alien bodies, extraterrestrial materials, or a cover-up beyond the initial misidentification of the Mogul balloon as a 'flying disc.'
