On 13 August 2024 a Senate Armed Services subcommittee held an open hearing on UAP. AARO leadership and other officials testified in unclassified session about reporting, the historical review, and claims of crash retrieval. In open session the office again said it had not verified extraterrestrial technology or non-human biologics.
