The search located only two 1947 records referencing the event: a Roswell Army Air Field history report noting recovery of a 'flying disc' later identified as a radar-tracking balloon, and an FBI teletype reporting the same. No records supported claims of extraterrestrial craft or bodies. Some relevant Roswell Army Air Field records from the period had been destroyed in accordance with then-applicable disposal schedules. The report found no evidence of a cover-up or recovery of non-human materials; other reviewed records, including classified ones and Project Blue Book analyses, contained no mention of the Roswell crash as anything other than a balloon incident. Executive branch agencies produced no additional records on the event.
