CIA UFO FOIA collection

Ledger illustration of the record — not a scan of the original paper. — Night Ledger illustration of the file
After FOIA, the CIA began releasing a UFO file that disappointed almost everyone who expected a crash. Much of it is Foreign Broadcast Information Service clippings — what other countries’ newspapers said. Some of it is the Robertson Panel. Some of it is internal notes on how to answer the public.
The Agency’s public line has been consistent: it is not in the UFO business, and the files show interest at the edges of other work. The collection is still the right place to see how an intelligence service filed the subject: as press, as psychology, as a security-channel problem, almost never as a recovered machine.
