NASA convened an independent study team on unidentified anomalous phenomena and published its report in September 2023. The team found no evidence of extraterrestrial origin in the records it was shown. It did find a data problem: civilian and commercial sensors are not designed to catch brief anomalies, and witnesses still feared ridicule.
NASA then named a director of UAP research. The paper is a scientific-agency document, not a defence assessment. Its public claim is modest: if the subject is to be studied, it should be studied with instruments, not with anecdotes alone.
