The 2022 annual report, submitted to Congress, expanded the pile: more military reports, a new intake path, and a handful of cases attributed to balloons, drones, or airborne clutter. Most remained in the unidentified bucket because the data were thin, not because a craft had been recovered.

Read next to the 2021 paper, it is the beginning of a series: Congress asked for a yearly accounting, and the agencies began to keep one. The public versions are short. Classified annexes are referenced and not included. What is here is the unclassified remainder.
